When it looked like he was going to lose, didn’t @realDonaldTrump want to eliminate the Electoral College? And didn’t he promise to do it even if he won? Maybe he changed his mind when he realized the EC is the only way he won.

He had no idea the EC is what secured his win. Like he has no idea about anything else.
-
He thought the EC was gonna cost him the election, right up until it didn’t. He has no principled stand on it either way, just a self-serving one

He can't spell E C, never mind electoral...

Damn, he’s been on that since right after the election. Good on him, I’m glad he was able to introduce it today
-
Absolutely a must! Don't stop there--need vote per people--no electoral college!!!

Why stop there? Introduce one for a 2-term limit for Senators and 4-term limit for Representatives.
-
Actually Ted Cruz did that today- except only 3 terms for the house. Hmmm, maybe that idea won’t actually die.

We should fear constitutional amendments that start becoming Christmas trees for everyone's desired changes. I think all separate constitutional amendments should be submitted separately to survive on their own merits.
-
That’s why they’re being submitted separately. Unless you’re referencing something else?
-
Just raising a red flag for the process going forward. Saw another amendment introduced for Citizens United to be overturned, and an amendment idea in the thread. This process is more sensitive than legislation. If topics are kept separate as they go through the process, I'm good

The whole pardoning thing I get, eliminating the electoral college is just asinine and could potentially take away state/individual power. Why would this be a good thing?
-
Because having California and NY decide who is President is a liberal dream.
-
By 2040 the 16 most populous states, with 32 Senators, will be home to about 70% of Americans. Thus 30% of the population will live in the remaining 34 states with 68 Senators. Potentially an explosion situation of tyranny by the minority.
-
That is the opposite of what minority means.
-
In republican land, the word minority doesn’t mean minority.
-
I think she is saying that 30% of the population will be represented by 68% of the Senate. Thus, the tyrannical minority comment.
