Just watched the @PhillyD vid about @TeamYouTube finally admitting they deliberately send notifications to a subset of our subscribers. Not a stretch to assume that affects search and related promotion. Nice job digging our graves for us @YouTube

"Not a stretch to assume that affects search and related promotion." So you're bashing YouTube based on an assumption? The bell is simple. If you want notifications, you click it. That's the way it should work. Why should notifications default to on? Do you have them all on?

What more or less what YT is doing is that they'll send Notifications to those active subscribers who have notifications on, then a % of those that's less active, then even a smaller % of those that do related searches.

Let's say you have 100 subscribers, all have notifications on. 50 of them are commonly active, 25 of them are semi active, and the last 25 of them watch it whenever they want to and not often enough. Those 50 will get it, the semi actives, let's say 10 get it, the other 25 don't

Have you watched the video? Sorry, but that's not what they're saying at all.

Just got back to where I could grab the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgZ2ABxFp6g&feature=youtu.be&t=643 … "If they hit that bell then they get a notification." "If they don't ring the bell and they're just subscribers then we put them in an occasional notification state." They also say they'll notify non-subs.

I can tell you that's BS. They don't always go out for some of the YTers I'm subbed w/ notifications on. IE: I still haven't gotten
@PhillyD's newest video notification yet when he uploaded it around 30 minutes ago from this post of mine.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

I’m not saying bugs don’t exist. I’ve seen delays too, especially from youtubers who often post about controversial topics (delayed for good reason IMO). However, this whole discussion began with what YouTube said in the video. That’s what I was clarifying.

I'm pretty sure they're referring to the phone app version. I'm referring to desktop. So was Philip in his video referring to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO-mLV_2lgE …

The topic of notifications is universal. Push to mobile. Email to email. Web to the top right corner of YouTube (I think it’s a bell icon). This has nothing to do with where you are viewing your notifications.
