Just watched the @PhillyD vid about @TeamYouTube finally admitting they deliberately send notifications to a subset of our subscribers. Not a stretch to assume that affects search and related promotion. Nice job digging our graves for us @YouTube

The old adage "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes to mind...

Notifications on any service should default to off. They should be an opt-in feature, not an opt-out annoyance. It's not broken. They haven't changed anything to "fix" it. I don't understand what the fuss is about.

the fuss is that if you got 100 subscribers, youtube sends your video to 10 of the people. even if all of them has notification turned on. kinda

Wrong. They notify everyone who has notifications on. They also send it to some people who don't have it on. and to make sure we're crystal clear. This is about push notifications, not the subscription feed. The sub feed isn't effected by this.

If you want to use anecdotal evidence, that's fine. I'm talking about what YouTube has said. https://youtu.be/OgZ2ABxFp6g?t=643 … Also, you say "don't get the video", are you saying they didn't get a push notification, or it didn't show up in their feed? It's super important to be clear.

If what you said is true, then they lied or there is a bug. However, I'm going to put trust in what they say over anecdotal evidence. My own anecdotal evidence goes against what you've said so it all means nothing.

Yeah, it's either a bug or they're lying to us. However, the origination of this thread was regarding what they said and a LOT of big YouTubers are crazy confused about the whole thing.
