If YT is worried about sending notifications that are no longer wanted they could always send a notification to the subscriber after they miss "x" number of videos from a content creator that if they wish to continue to receive notifications for that channel they need to watch

i think that’s a great idea. youtube could send a notification, say next time the subsciber opens their youtube app, and tell the subscriber that their notifications will be reduced.

the channel or they will not receive notifications for new content by that creator. This could give a few days b4 stopping notifications to allow the subscriber time to take action. That would cut down on unwanted notices while allowing subscribers to get wanted notifications.

The issue is that I’ve been getting notifications for channels I’m not even subscribed to. So if that’s they’re logic then they’re insane because that annoyed me so much that I turned notifications off all together.
