I was a student at The Media Lab from 1996-1999. I was extraordinarily lucky to have had that opportunity. It shaped my life from that period on. 5/15

The Lab was a rich and intellectually diverse place. Faculty and students were, in ways almost completely unique for that time, pushing on the boundaries of what could be done with computers and computation. 6/15

I grew up in the Free Software movement and was influenced by and looked up to Richard Stallman. I donated to the Free Software Foundation for several years. Eventually, I saw more of Stallman's behavior, and its impact, and stopped giving to the FSF. 11/15
