    Chairman Fred Hampton was only 21 years old. It amazes me how some of the folks who celebrate him today are the same people who acted (act) as gatekeepers and block out young people in today’s movement spaces.

    White kid kills two people in cold blood with an illegal firearm and is considered a hero. But Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, Kalief Browder, Jordan Davis, Michael Brown and many others are considered to be unworthy and deserving of being killed. This is America.

    Arrested at 17 for capital murder, I shot no one, triggerman was identified, I was at the scene but didn't have a gun, still in prison 18 yrs later, bail was denied. 17 yr old Kyle shot 3 people. All I can say is him & his family have been treated a lot better than me and mine.

    I wrote an obituary for Robert "Meech" Tucker, a friend of Freddie Gray who was all over the place during the 2015 uprising - including this iconic photo - which was capped by him ending up in federal prison. He was 29.
