I disagree... may be some truth to being a better athlete already helps - but WITHOUT A DOUBT PLAYING MULTIPLE SPORTS HELPED ME BECOME A BETTER ATHLETE!

Kurt--The graphic you posted says exactly "it's all about the pro's!" Every draft this graphic gets posted as "proof" that multisport is essential to success at the highest level. But it's correlation, not causation and there's a huge difference bw them. In other words, it's BS.

Nope - but I would make sure they did other things to become more well rounded human beings! You can use whatever word u like - but yes my kids will always be in social/group activities to simulate “real life” in a safer environment growing up!

I completely respect that. I was nust asking because a lot of parents try to force activities or ideas upon their children. I do the same as you with my younger daughters.

My kids are active. We don't own tablets, laptops, or Ipods. We prefer they go out outside and play with friends. They played sports but didn't take to it too much. They've did Girl Scouts (I have 2 daughters) camps, dance, etc. We don't do tv very much.

I saw this same thing. I strongly encourage the athletes I coach to play other sports. I will do the same with my own children. Unfortunately most involved in the AAU community don't feel the same way. I fear only "football guys" see this as a positive.

Contrary to what travel coaches will tell you though. Sad that kids are manipulated into feeling they have to specialize to get a scholarship. Simply not true!

What’s sad is that anyone forces their kids to play multiple sports. Maybe let them decide? Isn’t it their choice? What’s next? Make the kids that don’t play sports work to raise $ for those that do? The liberal way?
