    I've sat in a lot of selection committees. A great candidate on paper is not enough. Giving people a task to submit should be a standard thing we do. People compile brilliant CVs and do great in interviews. But the task will tell you whether they are worth hiring or not

    I am afraid that the torching of university buildings has now eclipsed the student demands and their legitimacy. There are other ways to struggle that don't involve razing structures to the ground. There surely are other ways to win support?

    the fact that 10 000+ students at UKZN are about to get financial excluded, but most of them are NSFAS beneficiaries. Worst part no one is talking about it.
