    School teaches you that the path followed by a projectile on earth is a parabola (ignoring air resistance). It's not! It's an ellipse whose other focus is the center of the earth. It's only a parabola when you have _exactly_ the escape velocity. Any more, and you're hyperbolic.

    I don't get it when "technical" people are snobby about non-technical work. Like, have you DONE non-technical work? It's hard. People are hard. Sometimes they change their minds, given the same set of inputs. If your computer did that you'd throw it out a window and call it day
