I offer this as a fellow Catholic, which means I believe there is always a path to redemption. Also, that lots of people who start out as little jerks can grow up to be good adults.

Perhaps I’m naive. (Judging from tweeps mad at me.) But I don’t want to give up on teenagers. I mean, they should offer real service, not just things that look good on their college resumes. And I think they can learn. The American Experience has been a learning curve.
