Also one more thing: When my mom died, I got a lovely note from
@SpeakerPelosi, with a copy of a poem that her own mother wrote about mothers. I so loved it. And my mom would have too. Even though my mom had been giving $$$ to the NRCC to drive her out of office.Show this thread -

One more tweet about swearing and I promise I’ll stop: My grandfather was the patriarch of swearing in our family, but he had to live under rules laid down by my grandmother about using The Lord’s Name. So he always said “dot damn.”

I knew I always liked you, Karen! I grew up with a f-bombing mom, too, and she's the greatest. (Did yours also smoke Benson and Hedges?)

When my son was 4 years old I told him there were certain words that could be used only by someone who was driving at the time, and that when he was old enough to drive and was behind the wheel he could use those words too.
-
Now that he has a kid of his own (19 months currently) he says he's going to use the same tactic, except replace driving with watching football. (He's a Raiders fan.)

My mom waited til age 83 before unzipping a bad word, to comical effect. And then only saying "Ass. Hole." very deliberately and quietly after some old guy had given her crap for buying so many cookies at the store.

Several years ago we started a swear jar for our young boys. A dime a swear word. On Day 2, our 9-year-old came running into the house, having found a dime on the patio. He dropped it in the jar then yelled, “F*ck you, Jack” to his 5-year-old brother. We removed the swear jar.

It's just a word and sometimes it's the most appropriate.

I told my mom the f-word was not taking the Lord's name in vain so it must be preferable as cuss words go.

In my opinion, “fungus” is a much worse word than “motherfu*ker.” Just yuck.

for me.. the vulgarity isnt the issue.. its people who arent smart enough to understand... if we cant get a GUARANTEED CONVICTION IN THE SENATE.. then impeaching in house will only embolden him and wont do SHIT TO STOP HIM.. ppl not getting that.. is frightening.
