Slic3r looks _almost_ perfect for my use case; it just seems to produce SVGs that aren’t ideal for laser-cutting. I mean, a slicer is a tool to do that for me; which is pretty much what I'm looking for. I don't need to build anything if someone knows something that already exists. :)

CGAL has a bunch of functions for slicing, the most obvious one being the Polygon Mesh Slicer (https://doc.cgal.org/latest/Polygon_mesh_processing/classCGAL_1_1Polygon__mesh__slicer.html …). There is also the family of clip (https://doc.cgal.org/latest/Polygon_mesh_processing/group__PMP__corefinement__grp.html#ga30082762ba2d947cba304e2884d96a99 …) functions from CGAL's Boolean Operations.
