It's part of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) on Commerce Control; you need a license to export 8-bit ADCs faster than 1.3GSPS. Apparently we're much safer if the government performs asinine regulation of technology you can easily get in those countries anyway.pic.twitter.com/Qd9LmfLFee
