Okay -- looks like I'll be doing some course design on stream tomorrow (Feb 3); tentatively at 1PM MST. I'll be looking at options for translating my university-level Digital/FPGA design course into something open, accessible, & less-stuffy, and playing with 's iCEbreaker!

Slic3r looks _almost_ perfect for my use case; it just seems to produce SVGs that aren’t ideal for laser-cutting. It doesn’t look like it’d be too bad to modify it to produce the desired output, though — or to add a post-processing script that fixes things up.

I was thinking something like a friction-fit nut in the top plane to capture the screw; and then rubber feet with screw holes for the bottom. That’d let me not have anything protruding past the square of the case.

for reference, I’m looking to make something like ’s awesome acrylic cases — they’re both super sturdy and look really nice in transparent ideally, I’d be able to slice these from a model that could also be sliced for DIY 3D printing

lazywebs: does anyone know of a piece of free software that can slice SVGs from e.g. FreeCAD objects for _stacked_ laser-cutting? I know F360 has this; and I know of solutions for slicing interlocking (rather than stacked) parts; but I’d love to make a sturdy, stacked design.

I'm tentatively going to try and stream some FPGA-course-development on Monday; I'll post a more specific time when I have a more specific plan. :)

(I also should clarify that this isn’t a coded message indicating I’ve spent time locked in a classroom by a manifestation of my desire for bad things to happen to me. I don’t know why you’d think that.)

Related things: 1) Nothing pharmacologically changed around the onset; I started lamotrigine a while back but the timings don’t line up. 2) I do have Crohn’s, can cause GI swelling, which might interfere with absorption — though the swelling tends to be in the major intestine.

brain-chem twitter-mutuals: I’ve had great luck with dextroamphetamine +amphetamine for ADHD/OCD a while; but recently it’s been causing me to unconsciously hold my breath until I’m slightly hypoxic — which is perhaps an anxiety response. Any ideas/suggestions/musings?

I’m looking for proposals for a catchy, pithy term to describe that guilt you inevitably feel when you don’t have time for all the projects you have; and feel like you’re neglecting some. Suggestions?
