Before it fades into history, please note: the efforts to "out" the whistleblower is one of the despicable acts in our public life. It no longer matters who he/she is. The effect is to 1) put his/her life at risk & 2) to chill anyone who would dare expose Trump wrongdoing.

McConnell’s office advised Trump's legal team throughout the process on which arguments were important to be made on the floor to resonate with certain undecided senators. This is a mockery of his constitutional duty and an embarrassment of his position.

Here is one of several cabinet members who need to be impeached by the House for corruption. Then ⁦⁩ can sort it out. Elaine Chao is our first case study in how corrupt the Trump administration is.

It is a sad day for America to see Senator McConnell humiliate the Chief Justice of the United States into presiding over a vote which rejected our nation’s judicial norms, precedents and institutions which uphold the Constitution and the rule of law.

Support for witnesses in the Senate impeachment trial: Quinnipiac 75 Monmouth 80 Reuters 72 CNN 69 AP/NORC 68 WaPo 71 That's an average of 73%! Republicans are blocking witnesses while admitting Trump engaged in a quid pro quo. Will voters punish them in November for it?

PAT CIPOLLONE NEEDS TO BE DISBARRED. To act as the president's lead counsel in a case you secretly know you're one of the top witnesses in is behavior that gets you disbarred. Cipollone is also trying to block Bolton from testifying because he knows Bolton would reveal his role.

What comes next? Expect massive efforts to keep Democrats from voting or prevent their votes from counting. The focus will be minority communities. I’ve spent years fighting suppression. I expect the worst election cycle we’ve ever experienced. We all have to fight for fairness.

After two and half centuries of our nation's history, it's come to this: The President's lawyers argue on the Senate floor that he can withhold aid, coerce an ally, and try to cheat in an election, And there's nothing we can do about it. Our Founders would be aghast.

Rand Paul just tried to out the whistleblower on the Senate floor. Chief Justice Roberts stopped him. So Paul stormed out and outed the whistleblower in a presser and on his twitter account. He did this to intimidate any future whistleblowers from coming forward against Trump.

It's clear what the President's lawyers are saying: If you want a fair trial, we're going to make this endless. We're going to make this painful. But a fair trial isn't a threat. It's a cornerstone of American democracy. And you can't have a fair trial without basic fairness.

Can we all just be honest? The GOP no longer believes in fair elections because fair elections gave us a black president. It’s really NOT more complicated than that. That’s the heart of Dersh’s argument that 45 can cheat if he thinks it’s in the national interest.
