Sentinel satellites have once again demonstrated their capabilities are second to none in monitoring such natural #iceberg calving events. This #Sentinel2 followed this morning's #Sentinel3 image. #Sentinel1 will follow later with a radar image perspective.
#Breaking
Yesterday, a #iceberg of the size of Greater London calved from the Brunt Ice Shelf in #Antartica#Copernicus#Sentinel3 captured the first image this morning (24 January at 05:34 UTC)

*The Level-1B preliminary wind products and the L2A AEL-FM and AEL-PRO aerosol/cloud optical products might not be of the best quality yet. The #Aeolus DISC is working on improvements over the next few weeks.
🚨🛰️#Aeolus data is back! 🛰️🚨 Our incredible team improved the FM-A signal by a factor >2️⃣, reducing random error by 4⃣5⃣% compared to the end of FM-B. Remarkable! Data currently with blocklisting flag* 🚩 Likely lifespan TBD. Stay tuned 📺
