There's over 50 Democratic Assemblymembers. Can a Capitol Bureau cover ALL issues of importance to their constituency? Just another way of getting information due to lack of media coverage in the Capitol and their district. Maybe one of these episodes leads to a story?
I'm not taking issue with the podcasts creation -- just noting there's been an evolution in how politicians can deliver their message directly to constituents and this is another example. We can't and don't cover everything.

One could argue constituents are increasingly rejecting traditional media outlets, so the challenge for elected officials is how to reach them. It's a supplement and not a go-around.

Media outreach is just one of the tools we use to get the word out about what my boss is doing. Social media, e-mail outreach, district events...all different pieces of the same puzzle. I'd love to have the resources for my boss to host a podcast! (He'd no doubt love it too)
