A big screw up: On a day where @GavinNewsom announces a major roll back of coronavirus reopenings, technical difficulties mean reporters on the phone can't ask any questions.
Update: They tried to get us back on the phone for the question portion, but the difficulties persisted. They decided to do questions w/ individual reporters. We couldn't hear each other, and I don't know who ended up getting a question.
My Q: At points through the reopening, some experts said we weren't given ourselves enough time to evaluate the data from previous reopenings. Did we move too soon in the first place? He answered broadly: Decisions were made based on different conditions throughout state
I also asked how they decided what would be put on the closure list. He said they decided based on feedback from health advisers, local health officials. He said he forgot to say in the newser that new guidance is coming out on gyms and houses of worship
