To me, the job of journalists is not to pretend we don't have opinions and biases. It's to do our best to ensure those views and biases don't shape our stories in ways that obscure reality 1/
And an important element of that, as Wesley lays out, is building inclusive news rooms where people from all types of backgrounds have a hand in determining what stories are told and where the truth lies. We can't report reality if our newsrooms don't reflect the world.
