I'd love to hear from fellow reporters who, despite covering a huge story, needed to step away from work for mental or personal reasons. I'm taking a week off next week to deal with my dad's death. I feel guilty not covering COVID. Trying to square that has been tough.
I’m so sorry to hear that. Don’t feel guilty! We all deserve our personal time, especially when it comes to family. I’m taking today off for no reason in particular other than that I could use a break.
