Amazing tidbit from this story: Buttigieg won an essay contest thru the JFK Library in 2000 for a piece on Bernie Sanders. He praised Sanders’ political courage in calling himself a “socialist” and for representing Kennedy’s ideal of “compromises of issues, not of principles.”
