Folks like me (& those creating these videos) are tasked with getting our news out on many diff mediums & also with packaging quotes/visuals that are ready for media to use. I think this strategy hits both marks..but your point about not having a chance 4 questions is well taken.

As mayor of SF he only took questions that were submitted ahead of time. I was at one meeting where he thumbed through a stack of cards to find one he could manage.

And at least twice there have been big mistakes that needed correcting (one-term George Washington anyone?)

And has to redo when he makes a factual error when originally saying George Washington served two terms (he actually only served one).

Sad to see govt. officials turning to video press releases, an old corporate stand-by. The appearance of transparent communications without the threat of human interaction. Treat them like written releases. Quote content if appropriate or ignore them.
