Late 2019 I was reached by a witness who saw the Buk rocket launch from one of the nearby villages (still can’t name it).

This person was later contacted by JIT, but I don’t know if his testimony has been included in the case files.

He told me a lot of things, but one makes me cry every time I remember it. He remembers a young boy who just returned from the crash site with a cage of live pigeons in his hand (illustrative photo)pic.twitter.com/E8Xm2VjwEX

My first thought was "WTF". Until I found the MH17 cargo manifest. Yes, there were live pigeons onboard. This fact has been reported before, but I somehow missed those reports. https://ru.scribd.com/document/234357078/Malaysia-Airlines-Flight-17-Cargo-Manifest …pic.twitter.com/FA9beN6IR3

My source told me those pigeons lived in the village, at least for some time – until the witness relocated to another place.

According to the manifest pigeons were heading to Vietnam, where pigeon racing is a popular sport. There were also “live birds” in the manifest, but I have no idea what happened to them. There also was a dog which probably died in the crash due to its relatively heavy weight.

The cargo compartment was not his by Buk that hard, if at all, but I still wonder how they survived decompression and falling from the skies in the cage. Still I believe my source: he obviously didn’t know about manifest too and had no reasons to lie about this detail.

Now I assume those pigeons are dead – their life cycle is just 5-6 years. But the fact they survived the crash is unbelievable.

(Should I add that I did all possible to verify an identity of the witness, and I can say for sure he is real).

According to reports "live birds" were parrots. Some of them didn't survive, some - according to written report, but looks unseen on the video - did.https://twitter.com/sl0zhny/status/1403041089527947269 …
