first time I heard the term it was without the toxic part, meaning that it was a term used by those people who didn't have relationships... I thought it actually emphasized an important aspect of our society. I guess internet ruins everything, again.

I find it deeply problematic, because “involuntary” suggests someone has been denied something, with the implication there was a right to it in the first place. There is no right to an activity that requires another human’s consent.
-
While I agree with the spirit etc.of your comments, my OCD notes that technically we have rights that nonetheless require sm else consent. Right to education req teachers, right to health care req health care practictioners and so on. All these cannot be forced, obviously.

And while the term now is creepy redpill lingo, there is psychological suffering when you are young, undesired and considered undesirable. And suffering can lead to rage, to finding scapegoats, to noxious reactions in general. We should help before they are engulfed by MRAs.
-
Suffering is real, but heck, I recall feeling unwanted and unattractive. I never once felt the need to hurt someone as a result. Those noxious responses are the result of pervasive cultural toxic masculinity - we need to break the culture *and* intervene with its adherents.
-
I never felt the need to hurt anyone as well, but some others may react differently, and as you say they can be validated in this reaction by a culture of toxic masculinity. Breaking the culture is important, as it is recognizing however it cynically feeds on real pain.

The next step i see evolving is a kind of professional MGTOW in the wake of the
#metoo
movement where men silently choose to distance themselves from women in the work place as they think now even respectable behaviour is no guarentee they wont have their lives ruined by a claim -
Women have had to triple-check every assumption and behavior in the workplace for years, including withholding association for fear of misinterpretation. No one wants that, so instead let’s treat each other as sovereign beings with equity and respect.

Seems like there might be a strong correlation the people who use that term and the people who have earned that "condition" by being absolute assholes.

Excuse me there is nothing about incel that represents masculinity. Men do not behave like this. Do not make this a Man vs Women issue or we all lose. This individual's actions don't represent what it is to be masculine. To be masculine is to protect others and provide with love.
