Yesterday this person spoke against rainbow flags in @TCDSB schools during Pride. If that doesn't get you, he ends his deputation by saying #LGBTQ2S allies should be killed by drowning. This is right before the Trustees vote.

The fact that it even got that far into a 3 minute delegation (TCDSB delegations have a 3 minute limit) with no one objecting is troubling. This has happened before. How many more students will we allow to get hurt by watching what their board allows at public board meetings?

Disgusting and homophobic - and that nobody objected shows just what the
@TCDSB stands for. It must be abolished and integrated with the public board. We shouldn't be funding a religious school board publicly. It is regressive and needs to be abolished. -
“Nobody objected.” Exactly! This issue came up at a previous board meeting. They knew this time what he was going to say, but they stayed silent. They were more worried about what the archbishop would say than how children would be hurt by what was said.

The delegate’s statement at the end was chilling. I wish I could say that I’ve not heard that before but like several other Trustees, we’ve received emails/voice mails just like it. 8 of 11 Trustees voted to Not receive that delegation. Why was it not unanimous?

Respectfully ... these presentations need to be stopped and asked to leave. By allowing them, alumni like myself end up leaving the meeting because we realise challenging who we are, violently, is acceptable at your table.

i mean... a bit out of context, but he's not wrong on the first part. catholicism and LGTB2S allies aren't really compatible. in other news, a separate school board in Ontario is a waste of tax payer money and should be amalgamated with the public board avoiding this nonsense
