Oscar Isaac wants Pedro Pascal to appear in ‘BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE’. “He should be a Spider-Person, like a cranky, old Spider-Person.” (Source: gq-magazine.co.uk/article/oscar-)

This is honestly kind of a good time to mention that a lot of my time was spent doing drawing overs, or that designs are just based on tweaking previous models. But regarding Webslinger, I added a little Pedro Pascal to a Peter model

#SpiderUK The idea was to always give her a hijab, so I took a wide look at different ways to wear it, but especially athletic versions. Swimmers uniforms was a big inspiration for me, but I also needed to consult hijab wearers on correct construction #AcrossTheSpiderVerse

#SunSpider was absolutely one of my favorite assignments on the film. I poured over original designs to include as many design markers as I could, while trying to see if I could plus up the design. Had to make the wheelchair a mech that could follow her around.

"realistically all spider-men should be thin cause blah blah blah" get the fuck outta here with that shit. you're not defending a fake things honor, you're just being fat phobic. none of this is realistic. just let people have fun and enjoy shit

Got to a body everyone liked, did some acting and action explorations, but now the design was sent off to the great Omar Smith to be modeled, where some of the proportions were adjusted. Omar did such an incredible job translating the design

The next pass: Trying to figure out how far to push his build. The suit shifted back to more of the blue, and trying to make sure a spider is read in his logo. The Miles sculpt was done by the amazing Omar Smith.

Some of the Generic Spiders I designed I ended up designing about 100 original ones, and I tried my best to include as much of a range of l body types I could. If anyone can wear the mask, we have to do the work to show that it can be anyone #AcrossTheSpiderVerse

Just like Krypton, we are going to start at the end. I was brought on early onto #MyAdventuresWithSuperman to tackle a wide range of designs, less so much concerned with show style, but more just concepts. This was my final pass at Superman’s new suit. Something classic but new.

Some more of my second batch of Generics (the name of the system of background characters) These are more in depth designs cause I had a better idea of what production needed this time. For inspiration, some of these are based on friends. #AcrossTheSpiderVerse

After a few months with 2099 in modeling and character paint, I was given him back with the assignment to implement more Mezzo American cultural landmarks into the suit. the trick was to add pattern work that wouldn't break the overall color silhouette

Working on top of the paint job by Jake Panian, I spent months looking at ancient art and current textiles to draw inspiration from and see how far we could take the design without it being too busy. Making sure the logo read as an 8-legged spider was a priority too

Study people. How they dress, how they walk, how age affects them, whatever. All great designs draw on specificity, and that’s a language you learn by observing real people.

I've been wanting to ask, as an aspiring character designer, what was some of the things that you think are essential to learn and that kicked you off to create better designs (ie. learning to draw cloth, etc.) I've been studying anatomy, but i don't feel that's all there is toit

Also I want to give a shout out, that while she didn’t know what it was for, big ups to for taking the time to help explain hijab construction and styling to me It’s always important that when you don’t have the knowledge to ask someone who does so it can feel real

There had been some previous work on him done by other designers, especially around his face and attitude, but I was mainly tasked with his suit, built, and intimidation

Genuine question How much time is appropriate until I start posting some of the designs from the end of ATSV to avoid it being too much of a spoiler I was planning on waiting until a month after release

With #Widow the details were really important. I spent a ton of time doing research, and asking several friends who had been riding for their whole lives so i could understand everything I could about saddle construction. A lot of of job is highlighting details so it translates.
