So for sponsorships I am thinking this might be effective: If a CFP is selected there will be 3 components: - Sponsor - Speaker (Experienced) - Speaker (Upcoming)

A sponsor can only be accepted once per event, and they get usual sponsorship benefits and are responsible for funding, promoting, and supporting their speakers. Veteran speakers are responsible for coaching their new partner. All 3 must work together.

Speakers can either do joint presentations or independent ones. Every presentation is blindly evaluated independently. (More on this later). No keynotes. No revenue-driven sessions.

Sounds great! Just as a suggestion from having run past events where mentoring was a goal … have you considered before doing the speaker dinner having a speaker coach do a session … for the speakers?! :)

So I’ve been speaking at events for the past 5 years all over the world and I’ve developed a lot of thoughts here. I’m just starting this effort and to answer your question - yeah sure - I’ve thought about it :)

I think the main challenge here will be financial because getting two folks each will double a large part of the cost. If you can solve that, magic!

Strongly disagree. The main challenge here is going to be keeping opinions like this one away from the event. Financial concerns are the least of our problems. A healthy community will make it work regardless. Thanks for sharing your advice though?
