I am very glad for the ability to "mute" keywords on Twitter. Gives me more space to find ways to address problems without drowning in them.

I’m just now getting to this, but this was damn good. What I’ve loved about the debate around the is how it is bringing to the public a greater understanding of how history/historiography works, and that there’s never been such a thing as “objective” history.

Hola ! We need some more volunteers to come help at our weekend MPP Pro Se clinic in Tijuana, Mexico happening 2/8 + 2/9. Spanish not necessary - we have interpreters! Experienced immigration lawyers + paralegals particularly appreciated!

The periods of readjustment are the worst with chronic illness At first you think it’s just a flare But then it’s 3 weeks later and it hasn’t passed & you know your baseline has moved lower Again And suddenly you’re grieving & angry & so bloody sick of being sick

HEY LOOK EVERYONE IT'S THE 19TH CENTURY ALL OVER AGAIN! I loathe when my research is relevant because it's never for something fun. Hey, if you're not doing anything tonight can I recommend a quick re-read of Defectives in the Land by Douglas Baynton? It's short.

Question for service/guide dog handlers who use lyft and Uber (and please only those who have a dog that is legally required to be accommodated for) Please QT with how frequently you experience service denials on the basis of the dog. For me? At least 2-4x/mo

When Donald Trump's lawyers stand before the Senate of the United States and maintain that abuse of power is a "novel theory" of impeachment, which is "made-up" and "does not state an impeachable offense," their arguments should be met with skepticism.

“Why should I pay your student loans when I’ve already been paid?” and "If you can't pay your loans it's because you got a dumb degree and/or are bad with your money" is filled with such shitty assumptions. Let's talk about them.

The lack of knowledge about how PhD programs work is not just a "first gen" thing. There's no good reason to assume that 2nd gen college grads magically know how to get into and thrive in grad school, or that they have anyone in their network that they can ask.

It seems to me a lot of great briefs succeed by worming into the nub of the error in the court's opinion and just relentlessly exerting force on that point. The opinion can look forbidding, but get into that crack and shove it open, and the whole thing proves brittle. /3

Feeling crappy about lots of things tonight, big and small, from politics to chronic illness to (lack of) money, and particularly including my own *&#^$& brain, so I'm taking solace in editing my much-neglected dissertation. Thanks for the gentle prodding, !

Far too often, disabled people are demonized for reporting disability discrimination. The fault and the blame for disability discrimination are solely attributable to discriminating entities & individuals, not disabled people. Stop blaming disabled people.
