+1 I switched to Tue/Thu this year and there are clear benefits. The longer lecture works if I plan in breaks, which I ought to anyway. Makes for a nice few mins where I can go around and chat with students. Saves nontrivial tx cost getting to class for me and for students.
I teach tuesday/thursday this semester and I love it. So conducive to research + teaching, and plenty of time to get slides done over weekends..

Traveling Mon - Wed and/or Wed - Fri only misses 1/2 instead of 2/3 of the lectures... the list goes on.
