    I’m so much less creative than I was even just one year ago. I used to play the piano and make art for fun and even /gasp/ write. Now I have zero motivation. All I want to do is sleep. Pretty sure it started when I left school and got a minimally creative job. Le sigh.

    Watching the World Series and thinking about Cody Kinski, future fictional pitching hero of the MLB. Catch him in OUT OF LEFT FIELD while he's still in high school so when he's one day in the fictional World Series you can say you were with him from the start.

    Always so weird when adults 1-star YA with comments like "very much a teen book" or "definitely aimed at young people". Fair enough if you didn’t enjoy it, but it’s like criticising a crime novel for "too much law-breaking"

    Rescued six dogs in Leland, NC, after the owner LEFT THEM locked in an outdoor cage that filled with flood water that was rapidly rising. We got them out, but by the time we left, the water was so high that they would have drowned. BRING YOUR PETS WITH YOU!

    I just found my very first draft of OUT OF LEFT FIELD. It was written on a computer so old that my current laptop can't even calculate the day it was created and just says 12/31/69. Date last modified: 3/22/08. Ten years, people. Never give up on your dreams.
