Personally, I don’t want restraint from journalists. Lay it all out there. Present the facts, all of them, all day every day, no matter whose feelings are hurt or who may be made uncomfortable. That’s what I, personally, want and look for from journalists.

You have to be living under a rock to not know this about Kobe. To wait 30 min after his death to bring it up as if people didn't know is not "good" journalism just because it's different. It served the purpose of getting an emotional response from people grieving. Congrats.
