Not necessarily true. Saying someone is NEVER at fault opens the door to a lot of debate. Their ARE some women who are NOT good people. By the same terms, you cannot say that ALL men are at fault. Has to be taken on a case-by-case basis AND with proof, else you condemn all men.

I agree with your perspective. I think all women should be taken seriously when they come forward but we get into dangerous territory when we automatically assume one side or the other is always right. Hence the recent fraudulent claim at WaPo.
-
What you said here is exactly right. The problem I’m seeing is accusing someone seems to be = to being guilty. Should these things be taken seriously but at the same time you can’t just accuse someone and that’s it. Proof is needed so these scum can be put away.

All due respect, and i do mean that, you simply don't understand that she's 92 if you believe that. Racism is taught. Misogyny is taught. Many women (and most men) that age learned it at a young age and it wasn't until much later times changed. This is one better to ignore.
-
I agree with this. 92 is the extreme end of elderly. I’ve worked with this population. Times change and they simply can’t anymore. You’d let it go if it was your dotty great-grandpa. (Like the one who told me girls are bad at math)

My grandmother died at 100. She was born in 1913 and at 92 gave up smoking, because she realized it was bad. Took her a while longer to realize racism was stupid. She never did understand the flaunting of bodies, because she grew up in an era when ankles were scandalous.

She’s alive?!

That was my immediate reaction too.

I swear I heard she was dead at least 6 or 7 years ago!
-
No that was her career. Wait that was 16 or 17 years ago. Carry on.

We know that, she never will. Not because she's an awful person, but because of the times she grew up in. She, my mom, and many other elderly women were taught this on a daily basis. It's their truth, as hard as that is to believe. My mom still 'shames' me if I open that door. :(

THANK YOU! Rape & sexual assault ARE not fault of women! The stupid cliche "Boys will be boys" has fostered this archaic line of thinking!
@_AngelaLansbury shld know this. Age is not an excuse I'm not a spring chicken and blaming women has always been contemptible! - 1 more reply
