This was a people’s initiative I-1639 drafted and put on the ballot due to tireless efforts of Alliance for Gun Responsibly volunteers. It passed by over 60% voters. Grassroots efforts like this are critical and scare the crap out of the NRA. Well done!

That’s great but banning them altogether would be so much better.

Banning rapid fire guns with hi cap clips should have been banned a long time ago, IMO.

Yes and it sound great, but I also heard on the news that parents bought guns for their underage kids for Xmas and put it in their name. The stupidity will continue. We now need a law to hold parents of underage kids responsible for their gun actions!
-
Just head for the Sane Solution. Ban ALL semi-automatic weapons for a start. Then ban guns for all civilians. It works in the UK.
-
Nope...sorry. US citizens have the constitutional right to bear arms. While we don’t need AKs and ARs, we have the right to defend ourselves and homes. I totally believe in sane, responsible gun laws, but I am also a gun owner that believes in my constitutional rights
-
Maybe the Amendment needs amending. Under 2a the following have the right to bear arms: drunk people. Angry people. People with mental illness. People with a grudge. Sad people. Jealous people. People who will kill on a whim. Etc
-
THE PEOPLE are taking care of that in states across this country. No way would we get a change to the 2nd amendment passed anytime in the near future (unfortunately). It’s gonna take time, but people are waking up to the reality that change has to happen.
-
Too bad our “president” didn’t see the need when he signed the ridiculous bill undoing restrictions aimed at mental illness. That alone should have opened people’s eyes. I have my guns too, but common sense gun laws do not scare me.
-
Common sense is certainly needed.

I guess I’d understand that if I as a liberal knew my kids at 18yrs wasn’t making a choice to go to wars where they use more powerful weapons!! We can’t have it both ways! Tell them their old enough to go to possibly die but not own a weapon...

Works in almost every other country.

Except America

Brian- I live in WA State other changes under the voter-approved initiative include enhanced background checks, waiting periods and increased secure gun storage for all guns to prevent them from getting into the hands of children or criminals.
-
Man, I can't wait until the courts knock this down...
-
It needs to be struck down. It’s ridiculous.

What’s wrong with you?
