I sat on a grand jury in New York City. Confirmed: fascinating. Frequently I was like WHAAAAA that dude is undercover?

So have the members of this grand jury all quit their jobs by now? I mean how does this work? Do they get to go home every night?

I served on a federal grand jury for 3 days a month (tues-thurs) for 18 months. Lucky for me, my job paid me and I received a $40/day stipend from the govt.

It's illegal for jurors or the attorneys to talk about it. Subjects and witnesses can say what they want, but not jurors. This is to preserve the reputation of those who are being investigated, should nothing come of it. Once an indictment is made public, you can read it all.

I would like to see more (any?) educational talk about who exactly is a Grand Jury. They are not a what, but a who. Regular people called to serve, similar to jury duty, but they commit, voluntarily to serve beyond what most jurists are called for. They deserve recognition.

I don't understand. I keep being told that there's evidence and everything but then...6 months. I'd think if Trump were so terrible, they'd want to get him behind bars as soon as they could.
