Only surprising thing about the idiotic “recall Boudin” effort is that his haters from Day 1 waited a whole year. Their campaign is just a reaction to @chesaboudin commitment to dismantling racist practices & making our legal system more fairhttps://www.sfexaminer.com/news/chesa-boudin-responds-to-critics-in-first-state-of-justice-address/ …

Do you genuinely believe that the families of murder victims who are now speaking out against Chesa can be reduced to that motivation? There are real, nuanced issues happening in our district, and as our representative I would love to see you take these seriously.

I work on these issues every day, Ryan, but my tweet addressed the recall effort, which is not about public safety, it’s about opposition to criminal justice reform. Do you support the recall effort?

Of course many of them oppose CJ reform — but there are many families who are victims of terrible tragedies that they believe were directly / indirectly caused by the DA’s policies. It sounds good on Twitter to attribute it all to racism, but it’s not true.

Again, I’m talking about the recall campaign, and you are avoiding that and trying to conflate it with the views of crime victims

Why the incessant strawmannirg? I answered your question directly, and provided clear context: many of the supporters of the campaign *are* crime victims. Saying they are all motivated by racism is baseless and seems out of touch with what your constituents are experiencing.

But what a lot of you leave out is that California is uniquely horrid in mass incarceration within all of the US . So much so the supreme court called it “unfit for civilization.” And the majority of the incarcerated are black and brown individuals. You all keep weaponizing-

Tragedies that happen, in order to push your political agenda, which basically advocates to a return to barbaric mass incarceration at a time where crime is actually lower. All cuz you don’t like the progressive DA.... it’s deeply cynical and harmful to marginalized communities
