Oh god now some people are championing a person who’d just shown the world how obnoxious they are, as some kind of a paragon of resilience.
Why don’t you also champion Trump’s resilience while you’re at it
Things like this is why I give up hope trying to promote kindness.

Kejauhan, mz. Keyword: power. She was obnoxious, yes, and perhaps naïve too. But then a couple powerful knights of humility came along and started ganging up on her, even threatening her livelihood. How is that moral?

It was also clear to me that the junior talent was ticked of by the patronizing language of her senior. Both have apparently resolved the gap between them. But then the spectators got overzealous about her, which illustrates again my initial point about power.

I never said anything about the “knights” who attacked her or threatened her livelihood (I have my my stance on that clearly yesterday). I am commenting on the new barrage of what seems to be support for the girl despite the obnoxious behaviour being displayed...

Everyone had shown overzealous reaction to this nonsense (the only measured response had been from the original artist couple). But to say that she is someone to be followed is fucking madness. Especially to those of us who spent our lives teaching people etiquette and kindness.

Definitely. But I am sure even you would agree the girl is a massive douche. And people can, as I and many others do, condemn those who go after her professional life and STILL say she is a douche, with an attitude best not celebrated nor followed.

She is a douche, yes. And she still has so many chances to mitigate her douchy-ness (is that even a word?)
But I also think we can celebrate her talents without necessarily celebrating her douchiness. So I'm willing to give her that chance.2 odpowiedzi 1 podany dalej 1 polubiony -

On the point of douchiness, though. The world is so full of celebrated douches: Steve Jobs, Simon Cowell, Gordon Ramsay, John McEnroe, Jeremy Clarkson, to name a few. Do you notice a pattern here?

I do. And like ms Dian Onno said, you can even be the president of the United States. The question is not whether they can. The question is do we want to condone and promote it. I do not.

Yes, and maybe the fact that they're powerful *MEN* have something to do with why society not only condones, but see their douchiness as a virtue.
Girls, especially young ones, are not usually afforded such luxury, and instead asked to behave, learn some manners and etiquette

Probably. But I honestly doubt gender has a factor in this particular issue. I’d say if it was a boy things would have gone just as bad, in this case. No way of knowing I guess.
