    Over a decade before he was Commander in Chief, FDR gave his of approval to the for their support of the troops. During & through 1920, the Knights provided recreational & religious activities to those serving at home & abroad.

    April 4, 1919 signed letter from Acting Secretary of the Navy Franklin D. Roosevelt to the Knights of Columbus thanking them for their support of the troops during World War I and requesting that this work continue.
