@LAPDHQ We need an immediate and transparent briefing on how this fireworks explosion was allowed to happen in the middle of a neighborhood.
If this was a “miscalculation" then every single person involved needs to be fired immediately. They are supposed to know how this works.

Per the LA times, the explosion was due to IEDs that were deemed too unstable to move. It's a high risk job. People are human. I don't think any bomb / explosives technician could guaruntee they they could deactivate something like that without an explosion.pic.twitter.com/rOz2CipeAs

What kind of fireworks would do that kind of damage

-
I went to the Chicago Fire Dept bomb range about a decade ago. The biggest explosion they set off that day was fireworks you can buy.

You may add. Please credit KNX 1070’s Pete Demetriou. Thank you!

super smart of them to fuck around with the fireworks right there instead of ohhhh I dunno, moving to a vacant lot
-
Especially cause the fireworks DO seem to have been in a lot earlier today. Did they put some back on the truck to drive somewhere residential…?pic.twitter.com/WE2SqJXhht
