This morning, we released a report drawing from our survey of over 100 student survivors who reported to their schools. Our report outlines the alarming backlash survivors are facing when filing formal reports of sexual violence to their schools. Thread:

Example number 10,293,098 of institutions betraying survivors while profiting from them: RAINN’s administration subjecting survivors and employees to discrimination and harm.

I have so much to say about RAINN, but I'll just say this: These national organizations that care more about political clout than supporting survivors ALWAYS end up in stories like these.

The Senate just failed to advance . 😔 Thank you to the Senators who supported this historical, sweeping legislation — and shame on those who didn't. Young people will remember who each of you are as we continue to fight for abortion access for ALL.

What is happening in Texas is terrifying and unimaginable. It is also part of a global attack on trans people, fixated on trans youth as a gateway into attacking all of us. If you want to take action start with Texas but do not stop there.

Prevention ed in college often doesn't prevent further violence. Instead, it helps people identify when they are a victim and how to seek help. We can't begin trying to prevent SV when someone reaches college--1 in 3 survivors experience their first rape between 11 and 17.

Disappointing that in 2022 we still have to explain that most people are assaulted by someone they know and trust, often in their home — not by a stranger in an alley. Tracking apps tend to *facilitate* intimate partner abuse, surveillance & stalking, not stop it.

While there's (rightfully) lots of focus on sexual harassment in schools because of Harvard, I want to make sure this story -- about harassment within one of the most important public higher ed systems in the country -- gets the attention it's due

In case it isn't clear, that Harvard letter was retaliation against victims who filed a Title IX complaint. And retaliation is considered a form of gender discrimination under Title IX.
