I was reading this book completely unrelated to productivity, and the author said (paraphrased)
“This felt hard, so I asked myself what I could do towards my goal that felt easy, and did that instead”
It’s been haunting my thoughts ever since.
this year, and, let me tell you, it was an incredible conference. The people, conversations, scenery, and food were all amazing. I spoke about how our unique experiences make us valuable as both devs and people.
an amazing conference and I really loved attending this year's #ReactFinland live in Helsinki! The sessions were really good and looking forward to coming again in the future! I enjoyed catching up with friends and making new ones!

What a week 🚀 !
I had a blast at #ReactFinland, talking with lovely people, meeting friends (some for the 1st time IRL). So many good vibes 💚 !
Kudos to
Thank you @ReactFinland for allowing us to have a whole block of talks on #WebComponents
It was an awesome week of workshopping and talking with developers about modern web tech.
Thank you @m4d_z and @daKmoR for sharing this block with me. It was beyond awesome
My 3 personal highlights of #ReactFinland🇫🇮
I needed badly this event to get out of the Nummela-remote-work/parenting daily routines
1) Great convos with
Love Jen Luke and her confidence at stage, able to let her words sink in and wait in a silence. I am always so scared to have a quiet moments.
Her talk was more meta on how to cope as engineer and human beings. Could be more important than any technical learnings! #ReactFinland
🙌 we need to remember that we are more than the developers, we need to be aware of ourselves and work through our struggles and get inspiration + know not to be the only one helping, but also have someone helping you! #ReactFinland
! I’m so excited to share some existential thoughts on coping with change in tech/the Covid times/life/time.
Confession, I’ve never traveled outside the continental USA. Who has international travel tips?
One of the first things I tell every boss, and include in every office “about me” section is that I knit, sew, or do some other stimming activity so that I can stay present. If I’m not doing something with my hands and the part of my mind that wanders, I am not paying attention.
So, it is vital that neurotypical folk recognise ADHD stimming behaviours and factor them in at work.
I have been constantly chided for being "unprofessional" by employers for qualities that are just normal ADHD behaviours.
I can out perform everyone if allowed to.
The thoughtfulness put into these accommodations has me literally crying from the sheer levels of joy and appreciation. To be seen and considered is the greatest gift to someone who has been actively ignored their entire lives.
We want our concerts to be accessible to everyone, and for everyone to have the best possible experience. Here are a few things we are doing for the rest of the tour.
If you would benefit from any of these initiatives, or have any suggestions please email access@coldplay.com.
Tech is hard!
Getting in tech is hard!
Advancing your career in tech is hard!
Staying motivated in tech is hard!
Dealing with the lack of diversity in tech is hard!
But what is not hard is the amount of support people give on Twitter! I am thank you for you all! #KeepGoing
