Great read and advice! I would add, hybrid cloud can also be part of a multi-cloud strategy as you think about the right data (and workloads) in the right place, for the right cost for the right business outcomes.

For tech, projects and planning will have a dramatically shorter window for value creation and ROI. We talk a lot about the flexibility to scale up but the language is changing and consumption models are being tested.

The Conference Board’s survey of CEOs revealed that confidence among CEOs is at its lowest level since 2009, with 98% of respondents preparing for a recession in the U.S. Feels like a self-fulfilling prophecy… with broad implications, particularly in tech.

Not sure what to think about tech friends claiming they are leaving Twitter but will inevitably return once they have a conference or POV to promote. I’m inclined to block the haters rather than cut my nose off to spite my face.

I have a couple of random people constantly popping into my LinkedIn profile, not requesting a connection but it does prompt a ‘viewed your profile’ notification. Is this a connection tactic? Trying to figure out the point. No industry connection that I can see.

We have confirmation: Twitter verification is not a verification process, it is indeed a status symbol. Awfully disappointing and it confirms everyone’s worst suspicions about what the new Twitter is going to look like.

A lot of folks have asked about how you'll be able to distinguish between @TwitterBlue subscribers with blue checkmarks and accounts that are verified as official, which is why we’re introducing the “Official" label to select accounts when we launch.

If you step back from the technical requirements for #hybridcloud, it’s ultimately about: “The right data, in the right place for the right cost”. Of course this sounds obvious… but users are expecting: Architecture flexibility Simplicity Cost visibility / mgmt

I think this is true for all teams. Domain expertise is the hardest and is most critical for managers and senior leaders.

5 things I wish I'd known BEFORE building my first #data team: 1 - Too much control is bad 2 - Too much freedom is worse 3 - Unicorn teams > Unicorn people 4 - T-shaped skillsets are essential long term 5 - Domain knowledge and expertise is the hard bit

It's interesting how most people seem to be losing their minds about paying to be verified on Twitter. I never thought verification equalled "status" as most of you seem to be inferring. It's verification that you are a real person - that's the point. 1/

An amazing thread and a story not well covered in most tech pubs. Significant implications and possibly some unintended consequences…

This is ridiculous, a lot of people are sh*tting on the “supercloud” term. It’s a dumb, lazy and opportunistic term. Dunking on one person in the community for challenging it is really awful.
