Tried to get a $1 meal today at lunch and apparently it was only available at breakfast. I was very food insecure my first year (my @HPRScholars fellowship has since fixed that) so I was excited...but also maybe the food should just cost less

It looks like Harvard is trying to deal with a problem downstream from fair compensation, healthcare, and harassment + discrimination protections...We have a food pantry at UofSC ("Gamecock Pantry"), and a little over a quarter of visits last fall were by grad students.

2nd p.: "each weekday during..." 3rd p.: "... affordable option to eat every day." 1) the dean is not proofreading her emails. 2) "each weekday" Do the same students eat lobster and porterhouse steak during the weekends (or hibernate) so they do not need an affordable option?

3) One selection, One day "...perhaps a muffin for breakfast or a slice of pizza for lunch" even my 6yr-old needs more food to stay awake and focus on his 1st-grade level work.

Maybe they can move that money from the huge sports budget and offer each meal free - like the public schools do. I think with the tuition they charge, they can afford it.
