When people started talking about U visas for the Martha Vineyard's immigrants, I didn't think any law enforcement agency would sign-off on the certifications. I'm glad I was wrong! This is life-changing - it may secure their futures here in the US.

Today is our birthday! I can't believe it's been ten years since I had an empty jar on my desk. We add a bead to the jar every time we win a case, helping us remember that each bead represents a life changed! What an honor to be part of so many stories!
September saw some great stories! We had an I-751 approved after 3 years, we helped one of our first U visa applicants become a US citizen, and two families can freely live in the US after having been brought here for horrible reasons. We're grateful for every life changed!

I joined in urging Congress to pass the #AfghanAdjustmentAct (AAA). This bipartisan bill would #KeepThePromise to our Afghan allies by providing a path to permanent resident status. TAKE ACTION and call on your legislators to pass the AAA: bit.ly/3w8gWuf

What an incredible honor! Tracie was named the 2023 Lawyer of the Year for Immigration Law in Greater Atlanta! It definitely takes a whole team, though, to provide the care and quality of service that helped gain this recognition!

I am thrilled to join the Board for Karibu Community Legacy! They serve domestic violence and sexual assault survivors from around the world, focusing on eastern Africa. I look forward to working with this amazing group and expanding our reach!
We've had the amazing opportunity to work with Afghans who evacuated their home last year. While we can fight for asylum, the Afghan Adjustment Act would be a much better process. Learn about our project & how you can encourage Congress to pass this bill: ow.ly/9VZp50KgO39
U filing update! Just received a Bona Fide Determination on a case we filed on 11/17/2017. I shouldn't be so excited that we're under 5 years, but I am! Hopefully before too long, we'll be under 3 years...and dare I say it, eventually under 1 year??

72% of Americans say they favor the U.S. granting refugee status to people who worked with the U.S. or Afghan governments during the war in Afghanistan.
We must pass the #AfghanAdjustmentAct and welcome our Afghan brothers and sisters to the United States, permanently.

A very talented and thoughtful client made this for me…it’s called ‘Gratitud.’ She said, “because of you, I never loose my faith.” But here’s the thing…because of resilient and kind and lovely people like her, I stay strong and keep my faith. Thankfulness is a circle!
Happy Day! One of my very first U status clients passed her Naturalization exam today! I am beyond proud of her and am over the moon thrilled for her!

Escaping violence, learning a new language, finding the love of his life, and getting a green card all before turning 25. What a story for Cesar - one of the lucky few to receive a Central American Minor grant and have his life changed forever! #CAM #TPS ow.ly/7WFw50Ju2U7
May was such a great month! We had lots to celebrate with our clients - from new citizens to protection for clients fleeing some pretty horrible situations. We never get tired of the smiles and shouts of joy!
We are closed today in honor of Memorial Day.
