Excited to share that I'm stepping into the CEO role at Coach.me.
Grateful for and the founding team that brought all us habit-nerds together, developed an innovative type of coaching, and facilitates an incredible community.

Ummm ....
This one hit hard. I definitely have a thinking project that I'm kinda stuck on ...

Yup. Forces clear definition on the front end, and consistency/persistence to see it through.

Excellent thread. I agree that Clarifying Identity > Specific Goals. Provides a better balance of focus and flexibility.

When you have a clear picture of your desired future state ("What do you want to do when you grow up?"), you can use that as a lens to filter job opportunities, business relationships, volunteer opportunities, education opportunities, etc.

Insightful thinking prompt from :
Without altering the facts of the situation I am facing
& without ignoring the reality of what must be done,
what is the most useful and empowering story I can tell myself about what is happening and what I need to do next?

I have this thought often. And we still haven't made it to trial yet.

That day of recovering from being sick when you feel better, but your voice sounds horrible. And, of course, I would have several Office Hours sessions today ...

I'm looking for better wording than 'inside scoop,' but wanting to convey a similar idea: transparency and early access. Specifically for our community of coaches. Also happens to be exactly 100 days.
Any ideas?

Finished a big project on Friday. (Actually two.) And then promptly felt exhausted & kinda under the weather. Feeling better physically, but my mind is still mush.
Super frustrating. Sustaining momentum is elusive ...

Interesting. I think October is when I often explore new tools. Perhaps there's something unique about this time of year. (Beyond being done with tax returns...)

With each challenge, hopefully we get better at taking each day as it comes and doing the habits that we know sustain us:
- sleep
- walking
- meditation
- fueling our minds
- having real conversations
- doing meaningful work
- and trying to have a positive impact.

It's tough to endure a journey with no clear milestones or end, but perhaps it's been good training for the volatility that seems prevalent now.

The only word that comes to mind is devastating, and in more than the obvious ways. To know what many of these folks will experience in the next few years is heavy.
The only silver lining I can offer is that they will come to know a few key truths:

It's hard to see the images from Hurricanes Fiona and Ian recently. Honestly, I've mostly had to look away just to keep functioning through my commitments, and I'm frustrated that's true. Maybe someday I can truly process and face it again.

Agree. This feels too obvious, but I find that my lingering overwhelm is almost always a project or commitment that isn't being acknowledged properly.

I have a 10-min challenge for you:
Make a list of all projects you're actively working on right now, all your current commitments.
The simple act of writing down everything that's going on will give you instant clarity and reduce your stress level.

Bad leaders see power as an opportunity. Good leaders see it as a responsibility.
Framing power as a responsibility can discourage leaders from being selfish, making risky decisions, and ignoring advice.
It's time to teach people that power is for service, not self-interest.

Feels like thinking this way is a muscle that needs development and practice.

To get good at something new, we often have to be willing to do it poorly at first.
Reminding myself of this as I squirm my way through experimenting with video production ( as opposed to audio-only podcasts). Lots of details to learn and consider.

When you'll really skyrocket? The moment you would prefer taking a loss, over standing back in fear of trying.
- Loss brings some hits, but you'll dust off.
- Fear prevents you making moves at all.
Prefer loss to fear...and get ready for some bruises.
