But someday, a cis president on their way out of office is gonna free Chelsea Manning, or directly address trans rights, and it'll be huge.

But they won't, of course, because cis privilege is a hell of a drug. =/ So it's still up to our trans and gender nc siblings to keep on.

If ONE CIS POLITICIAN had the guts to use that privilege to make them seen? That's it. Game over, bigots. The tide will turn.

There are so many awesome trans folk right now who are doing amazing work but are kept invisible.

Maybe not for everyone. Maybe not immediately. But for that one kid whose gender doesn't fit the binary, it's going to be everything.

And suddenly, we're going to see an elected official address trans/gender nc folk directly and it's just gonna change a whole fuckin lot.

Or one day, most likely, an elected official in their final year is gonna do something AMAZING like, say, FREE CHELSEA MANNING and BOOM.
