One of the tragedies of Katrina were the lost pictures. You can still see some of those phantom photos of you as a child in a yellow and gray tank staring at the neighbor girl just out of frame. That photo is gone. But you don't pack any photos today Everything is on social media

The troubling part is deciding what to take and what to leave. Some things are obvious. Money and passports. But not your pretty blues guitar. You haven't played it in years. It would dominate the back seat of the car, which has newish tires but may not last out the trip. Thread

My "little sis" from sorority in college is a nurse at a hospital in NOLA. She's sleeping in an exam room and wearing a hospital bracelet with her name on it "in case they find our bodies...they know who we are." Healthcare workers, there are not enough words to thank you.
