Who has this patreon that you're talking about? If it's hedgeberg, well *she isn't working on this stuff* I know for a fact that reswitched as a group is not taking money.

So... ktemkin does contractual work for a living. That's like saying "X has a job, that's sketchy AF" Who are reswitched's sponsors?

I don’t accept money for console hacking, and neither does @reswitchedteam. The team has no sponsors, nor do any of us sell anything related. Everyone doing this kind of stuff on our end does it because they find this stuff fun. :)

      1) it's called a separation between bobby and job. 2) by avoiding piracy they're avoiding jail time 3) there are different degrees of breaking the law. Breaking one law =!= breaking another. 4) often console-hacking expences come out-of-pocket, or use equipment you already have.

There's also legal jobs that involve exploitation, see bug bounties and pentesting.

Why aren't we allowed to have expensive hobbies if our job can pay for it?

As an example: there's an exemption to the DMCA for phones/tablets. With that exemption, *everything we do* becomes legal. Piracy is still illegal.

So effectively we're acting as if game consoles are covered under the exemption even though they're not as the boundary.
