    My talk, entitled "Secure System: Voting", is this Monday at 13:40 at the DARPA ERI Summit in Detroit. There are about 800 registered attendees, so it should be a good audience!

    I've been invited to speak at the ERI Summit in Detroit on Monday 15 July in the "National Challenges and Promising Research Responses" session.

    I am in alignment with this clarifying statement. Moreover, I believe that this statement is wholly consistent with the work that VV has been doing for years.

    This statement is intended to clarify Verified Voting’s position regarding the use of ballot-marking devices (BMDs) in elections, and the use of risk-limiting audits (RLAs). It is approved by the President, Board of Directors, and Staff of Verified Voting

    Bravo.

    When things are easier to do, more people will do them. Reporting vulnerabilities shouldn’t be hard. That’s why we issued a draft directive that will require most agencies in the executive branch to publish a vulnerability disclosure policy, or VDP.

    I think that this is doable with the technology we have today and would cost about as much as a single large statewide recount. Congress must decide that this would be a huge win for trustworthy elections in 2020 and mandate and fund the RLA for this single federal race. 7/9

    A nationwide RLA (1) is the only way to objectively prove to a candidate that they lost, (2) will detect foreign or domestic interference, and (3) will create evidence about the veracity of outcomes for thousands of other down-ballot races. 6/9

    I was asked what my call-to-arms was for the 2020 election, given that our R&D will take years to impact voting machines in the U.S.A. unless there is a catastrophe in 2020 and Congress seriously evolves its attitude about elections integrity. Here it is... 4/9
