I still see people on here saying the vaccines prevent you from getting or spreading COVID and friends, I wish that were true, but it is not.

As for "the vaccines mean you won't get COVID", that's ALWAYS been a LIE. Even in the original clinical trials people who had been vaccinated got COVID! They got it less often, they virtually never wound up in the hospital from it, and none of them died from it!

As for the hopes you wouldn't spread COVID if you were vaccinated, sorry, some people still do. I wish things were different! But here we fuckin are You yourself have no way of knowing if you'll be one of those people who spreads COVID even if vaccinated.

And like, this thread is US-centric, so the vaccines I am talking about are Moderna, Pfizer/BioNTech, and Janssen/J&J. I don't know enough about vaccines in other countries to discuss them.

Please get vaccinated if you can. Add that layer of protection to yourself, and for others. Ya hat is vaccinated. My kids are going to be vaccinated AS SOON AS they can be. But if you can add vaccination to your personal list of "things I am doing to slow the spread", PLS DO.
