In #sfmayor race, to create a more affordable and equitable #SanFrancisco please vote Jane Kim 1. Mark Leno 2. No 3rd vote. That's very best shot at creating a more affordable and socially just San Francisco, and for helping those who need help the most. #SF @JaneKim

Chris- Developers don’t seem to want to build under the new incredibly-onerous affordable housing requirements. And, with Costa-Hawkins at risk of being repealed why would anyone want to build housing? Jane is actually killing development of much-needed middle-income housing.

That’s why I am voting London Breed. She is the only one who wants to build. The others we are screwed. Build anything

That is utter false nonsense. Kim and Leno want to build but maximize affordable ratios. It's a totally false trope that progressives don't want to build. We want sustainable affordable development, not random anarchic laissez faire.

inclusionary isn't free. It comes cross-subsidized by whatever else is built, and is just passed onto buyers/renters of those units. If it doesn't pencil for the developer, they'll just wait for rents to reach $5-6K per unit across the city and then build... 🤷🏻‍♀️

True. So obvious so to many but seemingly lost on the vocal few. I’ve seen government-funded “non-profits” become large residential landlords in the Tenderloin. They provide plenty of housing to the “never-want-to-be-employed”. Prevents the Tloin from ever improving. Thx Jane!

I don't think this is a fair statement. There are a lot of older folks, disabled, seniors, etc. for whom it is not a real possibility to work again full-time. In my experience, several of the TL tenants I have met are seniors with AIDS, for example...
